This album was originally a birthday present to Chicago artist Nnamdi Ogbonnaya. A group of Nnamdi's friends, collaborators, and family covered and independently recorded some of their favorite songs from Nnamdi's extensive cannon. The project was organized and master-minded by Ian Sutherland, who arranged a surprise party for Nnamdi the day he returned from a European tour. Ian handed Nnamdi a tape, and everyone sat around listening, laughing, crying (just once!), and eating food. The album is formally titled "We Gotchu: A Pluntooberous Tribute To The Zugooberant Boy Nalmdy With The Grimey Cheese Teeth By A Pre-Scrubursculant Craggle Of Blungübboral Goons!!"

Sooper Records launched its operations with this album, despite pre-existing plans to launch with a different album. "We Gotchu" captured an aspect of the energy, excitement, and community spirit that Sooper was aiming to facilitate and hopes to continue facilitating into the future.
